Fortis Football Club, a prominent professional football team in Bangladesh, is based in Badda, Dhaka. The club competes in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), the highest tier of football in the country. They earned their place in the BPL by securing the championship title in the 2021–22 Bangladesh Championship League, showcasing their talent and determination on the field.
The journey of Fortis Football Club began in 2020, when Fortis Group launched Fortis Sports Academy Limited as part of an ambitious football development project. The initiative, led by club president Shahin Hasan, was aimed at nurturing future international football stars. Hasan emphasized that the core mission of the club is to establish football academies across the nation, creating a structured and sustainable pipeline for young talents to rise to the global stage.
Before stepping into league football, the club laid a solid foundation by inaugurating the Fortis Football Academy. On February 4, 2020, the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) granted Fortis Football Club direct entry into the Bangladesh Championship League (BCL). This was a significant milestone, as the club bypassed the traditional route of competing through the semi-professional lower divisions in Dhaka, allowing them to focus on professional football from the outset.
Since then, Fortis Football Club has rapidly gained recognition for its commitment to excellence and its vision for the future of Bangladeshi football. With a focus on grassroots development and competitive performance, the club is poised to leave a lasting impact on the footballing landscape of the nation.
